Dezeen Showroom: Italian design studio Stormo Studio has launched a minimalistic concrete table for furniture brand Pulkra.
Created by designers Elena Calabrò and Michael Carion, founders of Stormo Studio, the Manifesto table explores the possible applications of Acron – a robust yet lightweight concrete material developed by Pulkra.
According to Calabrò and Carion, the designers leveraged their architectural backgrounds when developing Manifesto, applying the Japanese architectural theory of Metabolism to the table’s design, which promotes the idea of movement in structures rather than staticness.
The table is also informed by the appearance of voids and features a delicately balanced tabletop supported by stacks of hollow concrete cuboid forms.
The Manifesto table comes in two variations: one with a square-shaped tabletop suitable for use as a side table, and one with a rectangular top that can be used as a coffee table.
Both options are offered in black and white finishes and aim to seamlessly blend into diverse interior styles.
