Dezeen Showroom: a puzzle-like arrangement of square and rectangular shapes characterises Gandia Blasco’s Erno modular seating collection, informed by the Rubik’s Cube and named after its inventor.
The Erno collection is made up of cuboid poufs upholstered in quilted fabric with a gridded stitching pattern that reinforces the geometric theme.
It was designed by Gandia Blasco’s creative and communication deputy director Alejandra Gandía-Blasco and named after Ernő Rubik, the Hungarian inventor of the Rubik’s Cube toy.
Borrowing both formal and playful aspects from the toy, Erno was designed to be adapted into creative configurations and rearrangements, with three sizes of poufs available with three armrest variants.
The seating is upholstered in a technical fabric and its framework is made from cork and 100 per cent recycled polyethylene.
Erno is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors and features a removable cover for easy maintenance.
